How much it costs to rent a car in Aruba: what you pay per day, car by car

By Guljar Hosen · 20 October 2026

How much it costs to rent a car in Aruba depends on three things: the car, your travel dates and how many days you rent. At Speed Car Rental our lowest priced car, the Nissan March, is from $35 a day from 16 April to 14 December (low season) when you rent for 3 days or more. From 15 December to 15 April (high season) it is from $80 a day.

Prices are in US dollars and match our Rates page. Taxes and fees are added, including a 15% government tax on the rental price. You see the exact total, including taxes and fees, before you book.

For 2 day trips in low season, book 3 days. Two days cost more than three for every car: the Nissan Versa is $170 for 2 days and $135 for 3, and the Hyundai Starex is $360 for 2 days and $330 for 3, both before taxes and fees. In high season a third day costs at most $40 more: nothing with the Hyundai Sonata ($300 for 2 days or for 3), $10 with the Nissan Versa, $30 with the Nissan Juke or Chevy Trax, and $40 with the Nissan March or Hyundai Starex.

Extras

Drivers aged 23 or older pay only for the extras they add.

Extras are charged per day. A child seat is $10 a day, the Damage Waiver (CDW) is $20 a day, and an additional driver is $5 a day or $35 a week. The additional driver must be named on the rental agreement. For a 7 day trip, a child seat adds $70, the Damage Waiver (CDW) adds $140 and an additional driver adds $35, all before taxes and fees.

Rent for 3 days or more

The daily rate drops, and in low season 3 days cost less than 2.

Pick the car that fits, not a bigger one

In low season, for 3 days or more, the Nissan Versa is $10 a day more than the March ($45 against $35) and gives you a fifth seat. The Versa, Sonata and Trax take 2 suitcases, the same as the March, so moving up gets you a seat, not more luggage room. Our guide to which car to rent in Aruba compares seats and suitcases for all six cars. Our economy car guide compares the March with the bigger cars. For more than 2 suitcases, the Hyundai Starex van takes 4.

Choose low season dates if you can

For 3 days or more, the March is $35 a day from 16 April to 14 December and $80 a day from 15 December to 15 April, so a week is $245 against $560. US and Canadian Thanksgiving fall in low season. Christmas, New Year and March spring break fall in high season. See Christmas and New Year prices.

Split the cost

The price is per car, not per person: in low season, for 3 days or more, five people sharing a Nissan Versa at $45 a day pay $9 each a day, before taxes and fees.
